INDICATIONS FOR USE
ACTASTIL IDROGEL is an ophthalmic product for dogs, cats, non-DPA horses, and companion rabbits, consisting of a sterile, isotonic saline solution with N-acetylcarnosine and carboxymethylcellulose, indicated to protect, hydrate, and lubricate the ocular surface. Thanks to its mucoadhesive, viscoelastic, and hydrating properties similar to the tear film, it acts by forming a defensive barrier on the ocular surface with lubricating, antioxidant, and free radical scavenging abilities, protecting and repairing ocular tissues (lens, cornea, and conjunctiva) in cases of ocular discomfort such as prolonged exposure to sunlight, wind, dust, smog, and oxidative stress caused by environmental factors. The specific concentration of N-acetylcarnosine promotes the restoration of normal physiological conditions at the ocular level by counteracting the damage from cellular lipid peroxidases. Carboxymethylcellulose gives the hydrogel rheological properties similar to those of tear fluid, including high adhesiveness and persistence, allowing it to act as a protective and lubricating shield for the ocular surface.
- Remove the safety ring by lifting the tab, take off the bottle cap and hold the bottle between the thumb and forefinger of the dominant hand.
- Hold the animal’s head steady by gently restraining the muzzle with the non-dominant hand.
- Place the dominant hand on the side of the animal’s head to slightly pull the upper eyelid with the outer edge of the little finger, facilitating exposure of the eye.
- Hold the bottle above the eye and instill 1–2 drops of the solution into the eye 2–3 times daily, applying gentle pressure on the bottle body.
- Reward the animal after application.

- Veterinary ophthalmic product for external use.
- Avoid touching the eye with the tip of the bottle.
- Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
- Allow 10-15 minutes between the instillation of Actastil and any instillation of other external ophthalmic products.
- Do not use in case of known hypersensitivity or incompatibility to any component of the preparation.
- Use the bottle within 30 days of first opening.
- Keep out of sight and reach of children.
- Store below 25 °C.
- After first opening, store the bottle in the refrigerator at +2°/+8°C.
- Do not disperse the container into the environment after use.
