INDICATIONS FOR USE EPIGEL® IDROGEL is an ophthalmic product for use in dogs, cats, non-food producing horses, and pet rabbits. It contains GXG, a polysaccharide (Galactoxyloglucan) extracted from the seeds of the Tamarindus indica plant at a concentration of 1%, which gives the solution high viscoelasticity and transparency, useful for corneal protection. GXG has structural and functional characteristics similar to mucins (MUC1-like structure) found naturally in the tear film, which act as a defensive and stabilizing barrier protecting the cornea from irritants. The special hydrogel formulation remains stable on the ocular surface and provides intense, long-lasting hydration and lubrication, offering immediate relief in cases of ocular dryness, including severe dry eye and associated environmental stress.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE AND DOSAGE
  • Remove the safety ring by lifting the tab, take off the bottle cap, and hold the bottle between the thumb and index finger of the dominant hand.
  • Keep the animal’s head steady by holding the muzzle with the non-dominant hand.
  • Place the dominant hand to the side of the animal’s head so that you can gently lift the upper eyelid with the outer edge of your pinky finger to expose the eye.
  • Position the bottle over the eye and instill 1–2 drops of the solution into the eye 2–3 times a day by applying light pressure to the bottle.
  • Reward the animal after application.
COMPOSITION

GXG Galactoxyloglucan polysaccharide 1%, Mannitol, Monosodium phosphate, Disodium phosphate, Benzalkonium chloride, Water for injectable preparations.

WARNINGS AND STORAGE
  • Ophthalmic product for external veterinary use.
  • Avoid touching the eye with the tip of the bottle.
  • Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
  • Wait 10–15 minutes between the instillation of EPIGEL IDROGEL and any other ophthalmic medications or products.
  • Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity or incompatibility with any of the components.
  • Use the bottle within 30 days after first opening.
  • Keep out of sight and reach of children.
  • Store below 25 °C.
  • Do not dispose of the container in the environment after use.
